A Deputy from the Orenburg Region Was Caught in a Declaration and Deprived of His Mandate
Deputy of the Orenburg City Council Alexander Nikiforov was deprived of his mandate due to the provision of inaccurate information in the declaration.
In particular, he did not indicate a bank account with a balance of 1.5 million rubles, as well as income from the sale of an apartment in the amount of 1.1 million rubles.
The prosecutor's office found violations in the deputy's declaration
The prosecutor's office of the Orenburg region conducted an audit and revealed that Alexander Nikiforov violated the requirements of anti-corruption legislation.
In particular, in the declaration submitted for 2021, he did not indicate a bank account with a balance of 1.5 million rubles, as well as income from the sale of an apartment in the amount of 1.1 million rubles.
In addition, Nikiforov did not provide information about his wife's property, which also violates the requirements of the law on the fight against corruption.
The mandate of the deputy was terminated early
Based on the results of the inspection, the prosecutor's office sent an application to the Orenburg City Council demanding that deputy Alexander Nikiforov be deprived of his mandate.
The deputies considered the issue at a meeting and decided to terminate the powers of Nikiforov early.
The decision was made by the majority of votes, 20 out of 29 deputies voted in favor of depriving Nikiforov of his mandate.
