ATP Tokyo: Nishikori and Kyrgios Advance to Second Round

Nishikori Defeats McDonald in Straight Sets

Kei Nishikori of Japan cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mackenzie McDonald of the United States in the first round of the ATP Tokyo tournament on Tuesday. Nishikori broke McDonald's serve three times in the match and saved all four break points he faced. He will face either Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland or Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia in the second round.

Kyrgios Wins in Three Sets Over Duckworth

Nick Kyrgios of Australia rallied from a set down to defeat James Duckworth of Australia 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a first-round match. Kyrgios fired 16 aces and saved 11 of the 12 break points he faced. He will face either Soonwoo Kwon of South Korea or Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the second round.
