Bakanov hired his son at the SBU at the beginning of the full-scale invasion - UP investigation
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ivan Bakanov, in the early days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, hired his son, Artem Bakanov, as a junior researcher in the Department for Defending State Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity and Combating Terrorism.
This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, citing sources in the UPU and SBU, as well as three people who know Artem Bakanov.
According to sources, the head of the SBU issued an order on the appointment of his son on March 3, 2022, when the Russian army was attacking Kyiv and missile attacks took place throughout the country.
It is noted that Artem Bakanov studied Orthodox journalism at the Kyiv Theological Seminary, and received a master's degree in international law from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Before the war, he worked in a company that maintains water bodies and a school. During the full-scale invasion, he received a military rank.
According to sources, Artem Bakanov is currently in Poland, allegedly on a business trip.
The SBU could not comment on this information, because Ivan Bakanov was denied entry to Ukraine from Poland on August 19.
