Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Baptizes Children from Foster Families in the Moscow Region
On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov performed the sacrament of Baptism over several children from foster families in the Moscow region.
The baptisms took place at the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Terpigorevo, Dmitrovsky District. Bishop Kirill was assisted by the rector of the church, Archpriest Igor Yakovlev, and other clergy of the diocese.
Before the sacrament, Bishop Kirill addressed the children and their parents with a sermon, in which he spoke about the importance of Baptism for every Christian. He emphasized that Baptism is not just a ritual, but a sacrament in which a person is born again into a new life in Christ.
After the sermon, the bishop performed the sacrament of Baptism over the children. The children were then anointed with holy chrism and given pectoral crosses.
The parents of the children expressed their gratitude to Bishop Kirill for performing the sacrament of Baptism over their children. They said that they were very happy that their children had received the grace of God and become members of the Orthodox Church.
