CSKA Congratulates Slutsky on His Achievement in the Chinese Championship

CSKA's Congratulatory Statement

CSKA Moscow released a statement on their official website congratulating Leonid Slutsky on leading Beijing Guoan to victory in the Chinese Super League on July 31, 2023. "CSKA Moscow congratulates Leonid Slutsky on his outstanding achievement in winning the Chinese Super League with Beijing Guoan," the statement read. "This is a significant accomplishment that reflects the hard work, dedication and professionalism of Leonid and his team."

Slutsky's Success in China

Slutsky became the head coach of Beijing Guoan in July 2022 after leaving Rubin Kazan. Under his leadership, the team won the Chinese Super League in his first season in charge, finishing six points ahead of second-placed Shandong Taishan. Beijing Guoan also reached the semi-finals of the Chinese FA Cup under Slutsky's guidance. They were eventually eliminated by Shanghai Port, who went on to win the competition. Slutsky's success in China has been widely praised. He has been credited with improving the team's organization and discipline, as well as their attacking play. Beijing Guoan scored 75 goals in 34 league games this season, the most of any team in the Chinese Super League.
