Jamal Murray exits Timberwolves game with possible concussion
Nuggets guard leaves after taking inadvertent elbow to the head
Murray will be evaluated for a concussion
Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray left Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a possible concussion after taking an inadvertent elbow to the head from Karl-Anthony Towns.
Murray was driving to the basket with 8:46 remaining in the third quarter when he collided with Towns. Murray immediately stumbled and grabbed his head. He was helped to the locker room and did not return to the game.
The Nuggets announced that Murray is being evaluated for a concussion. No further update was immediately available.
Murray is averaging 18.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season. He has been a key part of the Nuggets' success, helping them to a 21-13 record, which is good for fifth in the Western Conference.
The Nuggets will be hoping that Murray's injury is not serious. They are already without starting point guard Michael Porter Jr., who is out with a back injury.
If Murray is forced to miss any time, it will be a big blow to the Nuggets. He is one of their most important players and they will need him to be healthy if they want to make a deep playoff run.
