Karaganda sambo wrestlers won three medals at the World Championship

Gold, silver and bronze medals were won by Karaganda athletes at the World Sambo Championship.

The world championship was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, from November 10 to 14. More than 500 athletes from 93 countries took part in the competition.

The Karaganda region was represented by four athletes: Daulet Yergeshov, Almat Zhumagulov, Daniyar Sarsembayev and Nursultan Alymbekov.

Daulet Yergeshov won the gold medal in the weight category up to 58 kg. In the final, he defeated the representative of Russia, Batyr Boruyev.

Almat Zhumagulov won the silver medal in the weight category up to 71 kg. In the final, he lost to the representative of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Khudoyberdiev.

Daniyar Sarsembayev won the bronze medal in the weight category up to 88 kg. In the fight for third place, he defeated the representative of Mongolia, Erdenebayar Batbayar.

Nursultan Alymbekov took fifth place in the weight category up to 64 kg.

The head coach of the Karaganda sambo team, Marat Mukhametkaliyev, noted the high level of competition at the World Championship.

"The guys performed well and showed their best qualities. I am very pleased with their results," Mukhametkaliyev said.

The Karaganda sambo wrestlers' success at the World Championship is a testament to the high level of development of this sport in the region.
