Lectures, workshops, and dialogue with AI: Where to spend time with stars
This year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the main theme of the St. Petersburg International Film Festival.
During the lecture, the star of British cinema, Tilda Swinton, will reveal how the desire to try new things, including cinematic transformations, has influenced her career.
Another famous international guest of the film forum will be director Michel Hazanavicius, who will talk about the interaction of AI and cinema.
Аnd on June 12, the head of Sberbank German Gref will meet with the guests of the festival to discuss current AI trends with them.
In addition to face-to-face meetings and lectures from stars, the festival will feature an exhibition called AI: Algorithms of Consciousness.
It will be an interactive journey into the world of artificial intelligence. Visitors will learn how AI thinks, creates, and even composes music.
The exhibition will feature several sections:
- AI and Cinema - where guests will see how artificial intelligence is used in the film industry.
- AI and Art - where guests will see generative art created using AI.
- AI and Music - where guests will hear music composed by AI.
- AI and the Future - where guests will learn about the latest developments in AI and its potential impact on society.
The exhibition will also feature a special section dedicated to the work of the Russian artist and programmer Varvara Shmyrova.
She is known for her work on the basis of AI algorithms and for teaching the AI model to create photorealistic images of non-existent people.
The main program of the festival will be supplemented by the AI-Residence project, where 10 finalists will work on their projects in the field of cinematic artificial intelligence.
As a result, they will create short films and present them at the festival.
