Malynin ready to fight Ngannou in 2025: I will destroy the best striker in Africa
Background
In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about a potential fight between Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko and Cameroonian knockout artist Francis Ngannou for the Bellator Heavyweight World Championship. However, according to a recent interview with Russian outlet RT Sport, Emelianenko's teammate Vadim Nemkov may be the next to challenge Ngannou for the title.
When asked who he would like to fight next, Nemkov responded that he is focused on his upcoming title defense against Corey Anderson at Bellator 288 on November 18, but he would welcome a fight with Ngannou in 2025.
"I'm not thinking about Ngannou right now," Nemkov said. "I'm focused on Corey Anderson. But if I have to fight Ngannou, I'll be ready."
Nemkov believes he can beat Ngannou
Nemkov is confident that he can defeat Ngannou despite Ngannou's reputation as one of the hardest hitters in MMA. Nemkov is a skilled wrestler with a strong sambo background and he believes that he can take Ngannou down and submit him.
"I think I can beat Ngannou," Nemkov said. "I'm a good wrestler and I can take him down. And once I get him down, I can submit him."
It remains to be seen whether Nemkov will get the opportunity to fight Ngannou, but he is certainly a worthy challenger. Nemkov is one of the best fighters in the world and he has the skills to defeat anyone in the heavyweight division.
