Marcel Lichka: "We played too pragmatically in the second half"
After the 2:2 draw against 1. FC Nürnberg, coach Marcel Lichka spoke about the game and his team's performance.
We played too pragmatically in the second half
"We played a good first half and were able to create some good chances," said Lichka. "But in the second half, we were too pragmatic and didn't take enough risks. We allowed Nürnberg to come back into the game and they were able to score two goals."
Lichka was also critical of his team's defending. "We made some mistakes in defense and we were punished for them," he said. "We need to be more focused and disciplined in our defending."
We need to be more clinical in front of goal
Lichka also said that his team needs to be more clinical in front of goal. "We had some good chances to score more goals, but we didn't take them," he said. "We need to be more clinical in front of goal if we want to win games."
Despite the draw, Lichka said that he was pleased with his team's overall performance. "We showed a lot of character and determination," he said. "We came back from two goals down and we could have won the game in the end."
We need to learn from our mistakes
Lichka said that his team will learn from their mistakes and come back stronger in the next game. "We need to learn from our mistakes and we need to be better in the next game," he said. "We have a good team and we have the potential to win games. We just need to be more consistent and we need to be more clinical in front of goal."
