Miniaturist from Akademgorodok created four micro-icons of the Kazan Mother of God

Novosibirsk miniaturist Vladimir Aniskin created four micro-icons of the Kazan Mother of God. The smallest of them is 1.5 x 1.5 millimeters in size. At the same time, all the details of the image are visible on it - you can even see the faces of the Mother of God and the baby.
Vladimir Aniskin has been engaged in miniature painting for over 40 years. During this time, he created about 600 works. The master works with a squirrel brush, the hairs of which he grinds to the thickness of a cobweb. As paints, he uses tempera, which he makes himself according to old recipes.
The artist worked on the creation of the icons for two years. The most difficult thing, according to him, was to draw the faces of the saints. “The main thing in the icon is the face. It is necessary to convey the spiritual image - kindness, tenderness,” he says.
The micro-icons will be transferred to the Kazan Cathedral in Novosibirsk. There they will be placed in a special icon case.
