Premier League LIVE: Build-up to Newcastle v Arsenal & six other games
Matchday 19, the final round of fixtures before the Premier League breaks for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, takes place this weekend.
Here, the PA news agency looks ahead to the action on Saturday.
Newcastle will be looking to continue their impressive form when they host Arsenal in the late kick-off on Saturday. Eddie Howe’s side have won six of their last eight league games to move into the top four and will be confident of causing the Gunners problems at St James’ Park.
Arsenal head into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat at PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League on Thursday. Mikel Arteta will be keen to see a response from his players and will know that victory would send them five points clear at the top of the table.
The other game on Saturday sees Brighton host Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium. Roberto De Zerbi’s side have won three of their last four league games and will be looking to end 2022 on a high. Unai Emery’s Villa, meanwhile, have won just one of their last five and will be keen to avoid a third successive defeat.
