Russia Intensifies Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure

Russian forces continued their intensified campaign of missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on November 22, with strikes reported in the capital Kyiv and multiple other oblasts.

In Kyiv, Russian strikes targeted energy infrastructure, causing widespread power outages throughout the city and surrounding areas. Explosions were also reported in the Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, and Zhytomyr oblasts, where residential buildings and critical infrastructure were damaged.

Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in an attempt to terrorize the population and undermine Ukraine's resilience. The attacks have caused significant damage to Ukraine's energy grid and have led to widespread power outages and water shortages.

Ukrainian Counteroffensives Continue in East and South

Despite the intensified Russian attacks, Ukrainian forces are continuing their counteroffensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine.

In the east, Ukrainian forces have made further gains in the Luhansk Oblast, liberating the village of Makiivka and advancing towards the strategically important city of Kreminna.

In the south, Ukrainian forces are continuing their push towards the Russian-occupied city of Kherson. Ukrainian officials have reported heavy fighting in the Kherson Oblast, with Ukrainian forces making slow but steady progress.

International Pressure Mounts on Russia

The international community continues to condemn Russia's attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and is increasing pressure on Russia to end the war.

The United States has announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, including air defense systems and ammunition. The European Union has also approved a new package of sanctions against Russia, targeting individuals and entities involved in the war.

Diplomatic efforts to end the war continue, but there is little sign of progress. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that he is not interested in negotiations unless Ukraine surrenders and accepts Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territory.
