Russian Soldier From Zuevsky District Killed During SMO

A soldier from the Zuevsky district was killed during the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, the district administration reported on its official website.
The deceased was named as Private First Class Dmitry Vladimirovich Sysolyatin, born in 2002. He was a contract serviceman and died "during the performance of combat missions."
The district administration expressed condolences to the soldier's family and friends. "We mourn the loss of our countryman and share the grief of his family and friends," the statement said.
Background
The SMO was launched by Russia on February 24, 2022, with the stated goals of "demilitarizing" and "denazifying" Ukraine. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of thousands of people and the displacement of millions more.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, more than 6,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the SMO.
Zuevsky District
Zuevsky district is located in the Kirov Oblast of Russia. It has a population of around 20,000 people.
The district is home to a number of industrial enterprises, including a metallurgical plant and a machine-building factory.
