Transfer News: Gaziantep F.K. Signs Süper Lig Player

Gaziantep F.K. announced Aug. 23 the transfer of central defender Oğuz Ceylan from Turkish Süper Lig side Göztepe S.K. The transfer was for an undisclosed fee.

Ceylan, 26, has been a mainstay in the Göztepe backline since joining the club in 2019 from rival Turkish Süper Lig club Kasımpaşa S.K.

Ceylan made 39 appearances for Göztepe S.K. in the 2022-23 season, scoring four goals and assisting on one.

Oğuz Ceylan Expected to Bolster Gaziantep F.K. Defense

The addition of Ceylan is expected to bolster the Gaziantep F.K. defense, which conceded 58 goals in 38 matches in the 2022-23 season.

Gaziantep F.K. finished ninth in the Süper Lig in 2022-23 with a record of 13 wins, six draws and 19 losses.

The club is hoping to improve on its ninth-place finish in the 2023-24 season with the addition of Ceylan and other new signings.
