Nebraska Extends Winning Streak to 10 Matches, Stays Unbeaten in Conference

The Wisconsin volleyball team was swept by No. 2 Nebraska in three sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-22) on Saturday afternoon at the UW Field House.

The Badgers (12-6, 3-4 Big Ten) were led by Sarah Franklin's 11 kills, while Dana Rettke added 10 kills and Grace Loberg had 25 assists.

The Cornhuskers (16-1, 7-0 Big Ten) were led by Madi Kubik's 14 kills, while Anni Evans added 12 kills and Nicklin Hames had 35 assists.

Wisconsin hit just .182 in the match, while Nebraska hit .333. The Badgers also had 10 service errors, compared to just three for the Cornhuskers.

The loss was Wisconsin's second in a row and dropped them to 3-4 in Big Ten play. Nebraska, meanwhile, extended its winning streak to 10 matches and remained unbeaten in conference play.

The Badgers will return to action on Wednesday when they host Purdue at the UW Field House.

Franklin's Big Day Not Enough for Badgers

Sarah Franklin had a big day for the Badgers, finishing with 11 kills and a .385 hitting percentage.

However, it wasn't enough to overcome a strong Nebraska team that hit .333 and had just three service errors.

Franklin said after the match that the Badgers need to improve their serving and passing in order to compete with the top teams in the Big Ten.

The loss dropped Wisconsin to 12-6 overall and 3-4 in Big Ten play.

The Badgers are now tied for fourth place in the Big Ten standings, one game behind third-place Purdue.

Wisconsin will need to finish strong in the second half of the Big Ten season in order to make the NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska extended its winning streak to 10 matches with the win over Wisconsin.

The Cornhuskers are now 16-1 overall and 7-0 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska is the only undefeated team in Big Ten play and is the clear favorite to win the conference title.
