Kazan's streets will be closed in the city center on November 4th for a religious procession
Religious procession will take place on the Day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God
The procession will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will proceed from the Annunciation Cathedral by the following route:
- Bauman Street
- Puskina Street
- Kremlevskaya Street
- The Kremlin
- Kazan Kremlin embankment
The procession is expected to end by 11:00 a.m.
During the religious procession, the following streets will be closed to traffic:
- Bauman Street from the intersection with Kremlevskaya Street to the intersection with Puskina Street
- Puskina Street from the intersection with Bauman Street to the intersection with Kremlevskaya Street
- Kremlevskaya Street from the intersection with Puskina Street to the intersection with Bauman Street
- The Kazan Kremlin embankment from the intersection with Kremlevskaya Street to the intersection with Bauman Street
The traffic police urge drivers to plan their routes in advance and to avoid the areas where the religious procession will be taking place.
On this day, the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is taken out of the Annunciation Cathedral and carried through the streets of the city. The icon is believed to have miraculous powers, and many people come to see it and pray for its intercession.
