Владимир Козлов from Ust-Kut became a silver medalist of the world sambo championship among masters
Ust-Kut resident Vladimir Kozlov won the silver medal of the World Sambo Championship among masters, which was held from October 12 to 17 in Almaty (Kazakhstan), in the age group of 45-49 years and the weight category up to 82 kg
In total, athletes from 17 countries of the world took part in the competition. Vladimir Kozlov, a representative of the Ust-Kut sports club "Bear", in a stubborn struggle reached the final, where he lost to an athlete from Russia Rustam Mustafin. It is worth noting that the Ust-Kut sambist has already climbed the podium of the world championship. In 2019, in Seoul, he became the bronze medalist of the championship among the veterans.
Vladimir began to engage in sambo under the guidance of the coach of the sports club "Bear" Alexander Melnikov. Over the years of his sports career, he has become a multiple winner and medalist of regional and all-Russian competitions.
